JUSTIN MURPHY FOR U.S. SENATE 2026
           PRESS RELEASE
                           STATEMET OF CLARIFICATION

                                                                         September 4, 2026

For Immediate Release to the Public

I enthusiastically offer to all New Jersey residents, especially the Muslim community, the following clarification to my response to question presented to me at a Town Hall Event my campaign held on August 28th.

Very unfortunately, a gross misrepresentation has been circulating on social media platforms, which was commenced by a mistaken interpretation by a member of the press. I was responding to a question that was phrased inittially as "radicl Islam", and by the end of the statement and question, the questioner ended with referring to Islam, not radical Islam. My response to her concerns was distorted by the opinion of one reporter, who was not in attendance at the Town Hall; the reporter believed my response was meant to include all Muslims, including the deportation of Arabs who are not Christian- this is a complete distortion of my answer and intent. I don not, have not, and will not adocate for the deportations of any legal American citizen, period.

I can, with a good and clear conscience, look every person I meet square in the eye, including God and the Angels in Heaven, that my heart and conscience, dictate to me that there is a clear and distinct difference betwen radical Islamic terrorism, and the Muslim faith; this has been my belief for my entire life. There is not a malicious bone in my body, my Catholic Faith, and my four previous runs for federal office that were without incident, corroborate this.

I was honored to be the welcome guest of a beautiful Muslim family in Passaic County the other night, they were supportive, embracing , and undersood the distortion of my response, and want to see me elected to the United States Senate this November. It was a meaningful moment during the campaign that I will never forget.

To also be unequivocally clear, I am honored and blessed to be an American and live in an America where we celebrate Americans from all and every ancestry, background, nationality, and ethnicity. I will never apologize for believing in secure borders, legal immigration, and assiilation into the American mainstream culture for legal immigrants. I also will not apologize for recognizing the threat radical Islamic terror poses to America, Muslims, and the civilzed world. Radical Islamic Terror has murdered Muslim as they have people of other faiths. This world in which we all live, is characterized by good versus evil; and both good and evil come in all shapes sizes, and forms.

My campaign will confidently continue to take our message of a Better America for all Americans to the voters of every New Jersey Community. I was told the other day by a Camden County resident that you cannot love a country unless you love its people. I always have. God Bless.
